Ali Wentworth

We’ve had many hilarious and talented guests on Hash Hags but Ali Wentworth is the first whose mother is actually named “Muffie.” She’s the first who rode around on Henry Kissinger’s back as a five year old at a Washington D.C. pool party. And she’s the first whose jacket blurbs reference lady parts and drugs: According to Kathy Griffin, “Ali in Wonderland is like chicken soup for the Vagina,”  and Alec Baldwin says that “Ali Wentworth is funny and warm and crazy all at once. Like Barbara Eden.  But on something. Like crystal meth.”

Ali started out on the comedy series “In Living Color,” but her permanent place in the cultural history of television was sealed when she played Jerry Seinfeld’s girlfriend “Shmoopie” in the unforgettable “Soup Nazi” episode. She’s appeared many times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, was a correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show, created/wrote/and executive-produced Head Case, and her film credits include Jerry Maguire, Office Space, The Love Bug, and It’s Complicated.  She’s also contributed to Vogue, Self, Allure, and had a column in Marie Claire magazine.
